As A DIY MOM, Here are My Top 7 Picks from Michael's Maker Haul Sale

Updated: Sep 22, 2025

I tried to make it "Top 5" but that was nearly impossible with these prices.

Construction paper is like the bread and butter to every good craft! You need a piece for almost any craft you do and the assortment of colors is so helpful. Having the Crayola brand name also confirms you are getting quality. You will be spending just under $6 in exchange of readiness for your next master piece!

Notice how I chose WASHABLE paint? This is crucial! Are you really going to get a smock out every time you need to paint? I mean, maybe you will but, the Type B Mom in me will NOT be. Therefore, we opt for washable, always! Also neon colors? The projects are going to be bright and FUN!

Well we can’t have super cool neon paint with nothing to apply it with! No aesthetic brushes here, I am ALL about bringing the color and this set definitely covers a few. I love the mixture of brush textures as well as the sponge brushes. It is so important to let your little explore different brushes, textures, sizes, and see how they bring their thoughts to paper.

Here we are with another washable creative medium! Trust me, I am looking out for you. You won’t know how but, SOMEHOW this marker is going to end up in your living room and on the carpet. I won’t tell you how I know this but, I am sure you can guess. This pack has a beautiful variety of coloring and a tip that isn’t too small or too large for your upcoming creations.

All of my arts and crafts supplies from the past 3 years live in multiple reusable bags. I didn’t say this was an organizational blog, right? Please don’t be like me and start out ORGANIZED. I am trying to take my advice and purchasing a few during the sale as well. I picture all my paints together, brushes -assorted, pom-poms and pipe cleaners tucked away… you get the idea. GRAB MORE THAN JUST ONE, you’ll find a home for it!

You see how the theme continues with washable? I love this pallet because it has an array of colors which means more room for creativity! These are not always easy to keep clean with toddlers so just accept the fact the colors will mix. They are the artiste after all, you have to respect their technique!

I purchased this same product in February and just completed it 6 months later. We created small projects as well as medium size products during those months. I love that the clay is easily workable for little toddler hands but, strong enough to hold it’s shape. The creative freedom with this is my favorite part! You can let it air dry and just be beige or paint it and really bring it to life.
